About Maison RoseAux

Maison RoseAux is a Montreal-based home decor retailer founded by Courtney, who, with nearly two decades of experience in merchandising and eCommerce, sought to create a captivating and user-friendly online shopping experience. Inspired by the beautiful surroundings and diverse culture of Montreal, the founder aimed to help consumers design beautiful and cozy spaces that reflect their style while allowing them more time for what truly matters.

Expectation from Clients

Courtney envisioned a seamless transition from an old Shopify theme to a modern, Shopify 2.0-ready theme to enhance the shopping experience on Maison RoseAux’s website. The goal was to modernize the site’s design and functionality while preserving existing customizations and ensuring a smooth migration. Specific expectations included implementing preorder functionality, optimizing the display of out-of-stock products, personalizing badge displays, integrating Klaviyo for notifications, and improving overall site speed.

What was the Process?

We started by upgrading the outdated Shopify theme to a Shopify 2.0-ready theme. This upgrade included migrating all existing theme customizations to the new theme, ensuring that previous design elements and features were preserved and optimized for the latest Shopify platform.

To accommodate customer needs and streamline the purchasing process, we integrated a preorder functionality. This feature allowed customers to place orders for items that were not immediately in stock.

We adjusted the site’s functionality to display out-of-stock products last on the collection pages. To enhance product visibility and appeal, we implemented personalized tags-based badge displays on collection pages. This feature highlighted key attributes and promotions of various products, making it easier for customers to find what they were looking for.

To keep customers informed and engaged, we integrated Klaviyo for a “notify me” back-in-stock feature. This allowed customers to sign up for notifications when out-of-stock items became available again.

Finally, we focused on optimizing the website’s speed to enhance user experience and performance. This included various technical improvements to ensure fast load times and smooth navigation across the site.

The Result

The comprehensive update to Maison RoseAux’s online store led to significant improvements in both functionality and user experience. The upgrade to the Shopify 2.0 theme provided a modern and flexible design, which was well-received by customers. The implementation of preorder functionality and personalized badge displays increased customer engagement and satisfaction. 

Out-of-stock products being displayed last on collection pages reduced customer frustration, while the Klaviyo integration for notifications kept customers informed and connected. Speed optimizations enhanced the overall performance of the site, leading to a more efficient and enjoyable shopping experience.
